Harbourcombe is the fictional South Devon home of the Harbourcombe Guesthouse Mysteries.

At its heart stands Westering House, the guesthouse owned by Nell Merrick. Around it lies a town built from layers: harbour walls and old houses, narrow streets, local traditions and long memories. Visitors arrive for a few days. Residents know rather more about one another than they admit.

It is the sort of place where the sea is never far away, where weather can change the mood of a street in minutes, and where everyday routines can conceal surprisingly complicated histories.

Westering House

For Nell, Westering House is home, livelihood and a steady flow of people passing through. Guests bring luggage, plans, questions and, sometimes, trouble.

Each Harbourcombe mystery tells its own story while gradually revealing more of the town, its people and the life Nell has built beside the sea.
